Seahawks draft L.J. Collier

For the 8th year in a row, Seattle used its first-round pick to move back in the draft, as it traded the 21st overall selection to Green Bay. The Seahawks used the 29th pick to select TCU Defensive End L.J. Collier, a 6’2, 291-pound All-Big 12 1st-teamer who recorded six sacks and 42 tackles his senior year.

Seattle used the 30th pick it received from Green Bay to trade to the Giants for New York’s 2nd, 4th and 5th round picks. In addition, the Hawks got the Packer’s two, 4th round picks. So the Seahawks entered draft day with four picks and came out with a 1st round defensive end and a total of 8 picks remaining, all in rounds 2-through-5.

The NFL Draft continues with the 2nd and 3rd rounds today beginning at 4 o’clock on ABC and ESPN.
