WENATCHEE- The jury duty scammers are operating in our area again, according to Wenatchee Police.

The general ploy is, you receive a call informing you that you failed to appear for mandated jury duty and a warrant has been issued for your arrest. In order to be rid of the warrant you need to pay money.

Police say they may seem authentic and your caller ID may show a phone number from a courthouse or law enforcement agency, and the scammer citing names of actual police and judges. The aim is to scare you into believing you missed a jury appearance.

Don’t fall for it. If you receive such a call, hang up and call RiverCom at 663-9911.
