WENATCHEE- Donni Reddington and her father Don made their final stop of their ten day Ride for Alzheimer’s at Pybus Public Market yesterday, July 12.
The Reddington Duo set out from Twisp following the conclusion of the Independence Day Parade, and have been making stops all across Washington riding on motorcycle and sidecar with fellow riders and supporters of raising Alzheimer’s awareness. The tour drew inspiration from Don’s story, who lives with Alzheimer’s.
Making their final stop here in Wenatchee at the Pybus Market they were greeted with cheers and smiles, Donni Reddington shared her experiences and appreciation for the support shown by the Washington community during the ride.
“Wenatchee has a special place in our heart and that’s why we chose here for our last rally, thank you so much for everybody that has supported us on our journey,” Donni said to the crowd. “All the kind people that we have met along the way, it has been an adventure.”
The tour was greeted by a large crowd of local supporters after completing their last leg of the tour from Quincy to Wenatchee.
“We have created more memories and we have also revisited a lot of memories from the past on this trip,” Donni said. “It has been awesome, and I’m so glad we made it. I think that dad is going to be so happy to sleep in his own bed tonight.”
Don expressed his gratitude to those involved in the tour.
“You never know what the next thing is going to be, and I’m just so thankful to these young ladies and all the things that they are doing to other people too, so thank you,” he said.
