Residents give Wenatchee City Council feedback on proposed voting districts

WENATCHEE- At last night’s Wenatchee City Council meeting, a public hearing was held in order for the public to comment on proposed voting districts in Wenatchee to replace the current at-large election of city council members. NCWLife’s Grant Olson has more.

The Washington Voter rights act of 2018 states that all voters be represented. The council will decide on 7 voting districts in the city, 5 voting districts with 2 at-large candidates or keep the current system of 7 at-large city council members.

Council members Ruth Esparza and Jim Bailey spoke with NCWLIFE about the proposed changes, and their perspective on the issues at hand. Click here to watch their visit on Wake Up Wenatchee Valley with Dan Kuntz.
