Record Passenger Boardings at Pangborn Airport

Pangborn Memorial Airport set a December monthly record of 10,233 passengers last month. Officials with the Chelan County Port District say strong seasonal travel and better relaibility were responsible for the positive results. Pangborn only had 8 cancelled flights due to weather conditions during the month. By comparison, December 2015 was challenging for weather cancellations, with 26 recorded. Enhanced reliability led to a nearly 7% increase in passengers using Pangborn for Decmeber 2016. The reasons for this large reliability improvement include airport investments in better lighting as part of the runway extension project, better weather, the great performance and partnership with Alaska Airlines, and the efforts of Pangborn’s operations staff.

Airport Governing Board President JC Baldwin remarked, “We’re thrilled that our infrastructure improvements, together with Alaska’s commitment to serving our community, is resulting in greater reliability at Pangborn. The best way to get more air service is to use the service we have and we understand that reliability is critical to people choosing to fly through Pangborn.”
