The Wenatchee area recorded its lowest August unemployment rate since electronic records have been kept, the state Employment Security Department reported.
The Wenatchee MSA, which includes Chelan and Douglas counties, recorded a 4.1 percent civilian unemployment rate in August, down from 4.8 percent in August 2017.
Unemployment was actually up from July, which was at 3.2 percent. Prior to August, the rate had been dropping every month since February, which had a 7 percent unemployment rate.
The department began keeping electronic employment records in 1990.
