Quincy police are looking for at least two suspects in an early Sunday morning drive-by shooting that injured a 21-year-old man.

Brian Lopez of Quincy was treated and released at Quincy Valley Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to his arm.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. in the area of Fourth Avenue Southeast and C Street Southeast near Ancient Lakes Elementary school.

Captain Ryan Green of the Quincy Police Department said Lopez was walking back to his apartment from a convenience store when he noticed a newer black BMW with tinted windows slowly following him.

“He got spooked and started to run for his apartment and that’s when shots rang out,” Green said.

Lopez told police the shots were fired from the passenger side of the car.

“He doesn’t know why he was targeted,” Green said. “That’s what he told us.”

Investigators reported finding several 9 millimeter shell casings at the site.

“We did get some leads from the public .. so the detectives are working on some leads,” Green said.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Quincy Police Department at 509-787-2222.
