Power has been restored to most of Lake Wenatchee and should be back soon for Plain, the Chelan County PUD said this afternoon.
More work needs to be done at Coles Corner, however, so power there likely won’t be back on until later this evening, said Rachel Hansen, public information officer for the PUD.
After wet and heavy snow fell overnight into Tuesday morning, power was knocked out to thousands throughout Chelan County.
There are 35 PUD customers in the Wapato area of Lake Chelan who are likely to be without power through the night, Hansen said.
“We had a transmission pole get severely damaged and we have to replace that, and that’s kind of a bigger project,” Hansen said.
She said the PUD has contacted those customers to let them know crews will be working through the night.
Scattered outages remain throughout the region, she said, including Bear Mountain and some of the gulches near Lake Chelan.
Hanson said if people still haven’t had their power restored they should call the PUD’s outage line at 877-783-8123.
