The Chelan County PUD is still searching for the exact cause of a power outage that put about 2,000 Wenatchee customers in the dark on one of the coldest days of the winter season last week.

Kimberlee Craig with the Chelan County PUD said crews have been investigating the outage at the Miller Substation, and found no damage to the main power transformer.

Craig added that an unrelated outage in the Sunny Slope area on Monday morning was caused by a blown lightning arrester that triggered equipment inside the substation to shut down.
