The Season Ends For Most Local Teams


(Wenatchee, WA)…NCWLIFE Channel Sports Director Eric Granstrom has a review of the high school football action from the weekend.Eastmont concluded its season on a losing note Friday, falling to Sunnyside at Wildcat Field 20-6. The Grizzlies struck first on a one yard touchdown run by Alfredo Loera in the first quarter. Carlos Ramirez made it 14-nothing Sunnyside in the 2nd on a 2-yard touchdown run. Eastmont made adjustments at halftime and took the second half kickoff on a 21-play, 8-and-a-half minute drive for its lone touchdown of the night by Noah Woodward.

Wenatchee also came up very short in its final game of the season at home against West Valley, as the visitors rolled to a 49-nothing win. The Rams scored first following a Wenatchee fumble on a 5-yard touchdown run by Mason Sali-Orvald. The highlights for the Panthers were few and far between, but Rowan Parmenter rumbled for 28-yards on this play in the 1st. Later in the 1st quarter, Austin Blakeney heaves a pass downfield for Darius Carlson, who hauls it in for a 28-yard completion. The drive would stall and the Rams led at half 32-nothing. To add injury to insult in the second half, David Lindgren picked off Blakeney’s pass at the West Valley 4 and returned it 96-yards for a touchdown.

The only Caribou Trail League team advancing in the playoffs is Okanogan after its 42-10 win over Newport Friday. In Cashmere, despite Luke Simonson’s 355-yards and 3-touchdowns, the Bulldogs were pummeled by Colville 64-28. At Eastern Washington University Friday, Cascade fell to Lakeside 46-28.
