Pounds of meth and hundreds of fentanyl pills reportedly found in stolen car in Ephrata

A large quantity of drugs and cash were reportedly seized and two Yakima men arrested after an Ephrata Police officer pulled over a stolen vehicle early Tuesday morning.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the officer initially found about a pound of methamphetamine, 100 grams of heroin and about 750 fentanyl pills in the vehicle before calling in the Grant County Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET).

INET detectives found another two pounds of methamphetamine, 750 more fentanyl pills and more than $2,800 in cash in the vehicle, said Grant County Deputy Kyle Foreman.

The reportedly stolen car was pulled over about 12:30 a.m. on Highway 28 and Division Avenue North.

Arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver narcotics were the driver J. Jesus Cuevas, 23, and Cristina Cuevas, 18.

The Ephrata Police Department said today it was one of two incidents Tuesday where an officer pulled over a stolen vehicle and found a large quantity of drugs inside.
