The identities of two people killed last week when a vehicle crashed into a Wenatchee barber shop have been released by the Wenatchee Police Department.

The accident killed Colleen Johnson, 61, of East Wenatchee, who was a passenger in the vehicle, and Jesus Fausto-Curiel, 25, of East Wenatchee, a customer in the barber shop.

An unidentified 23-year-old male employee of the barber shop was also critically injured and remains at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Three others suffered minor injuries, two inside the barber shop and the driver of the vehicle, said Wenatchee Police Capt. Edgar Reinfled.

Police say the unidentified driver is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before the accident, crashing into another vehicle before swerving into The Ave Barber Shop at the corner of Chelan Avenue and Second street.

The entire vehicle came to rest inside the building.

“Our lead investigator has interviewed all known witnesses and had stitched together video from a variety of sources to show what happened immediately before the collision,” Wenatchee police said in a press release. “It still appears that a medical emergency suffered by the driver was the cause in this case.”

The accident Thursday led to the closure of both Chelan and Second for several hours.
