Police beefed up their presence at Moses Lake High School today after a social media post circulated threatening violence at the school.
Both the Moses Lake Police Department and the Moses Lake School District said the Snapchat threat was the same one that caused concern at Monroe High School in Western Washington last week.
Classes at Moses Lake High School went on as scheduled today.
Police said they take the threat seriously but their investigation thus far has not found the threat to be credible.
“Officers received the information last night and immediately began investigating the origin, attempting to find anyone involved or responsible for the post,” the police department said. “They spoke to school employees, parents and students but we unable to substantiate the threat.”
Classes were moved to remote-only at Wenatchee High School last Friday after the school district received an anonymous email saying someone would be bringing a gun to school.
That threat also has not yet been substantiated.
