work release

WENATCHEE — A Chelan resident who’s in jail for allegedly assaulting a security guard is now accused of punching a corrections officer in the face.

Connor Trevino, 25, has been held in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center since Nov. 29, when police say he attacked a guard at Link Transit’s Columbia Station in downtown Wenatchee. On Friday, Trevino allegedly punched a female corrections officer when she came to move him to his cell.

Wenatchee police said when they interviewed Trevino about the assault, he said, “I just wanted to punch someone, and she was right there.”

He’s already charged with one count of third-degree assault for the bus station incident. He now faces a new charge in the second degree.
