James Paxton is back in a Mariners uniform this season after spending to years with the Yankees. Unfortunately, one of the first things he and the rest of the players have had to deal with in spring training are the controversial comments of the now-departed CEO Kevin Mather.

AppleSox add games to schedule

The AppleSox will host the Highline Bears on July 3 and the Northwest Star Academy on July 16 and 17. The AppleSox’ 2021 schedule now consists of 54 games, 30 of which will be played at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

The Highline Bears game on July 3 will also mark the return of the fan-favorite Fireworks Night. This will be the third straight season that Highline will visit Wenatchee. The Bears hail from just outside of Seattle and play in the Pacific International League.

The Northwest Star Academy will return to Wenatchee for the first time since 2018. Their team is made up of players from Oregon and Southwest Washington who are between their senior year of high school and freshman year of college.
