Parkside Mental Health Crisis Care Facility to Open in October

The much anticipated opening of a new Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Facility in Wenatchee has been delayed. Originally scheduled to open earlier this summer, the 16-bed Parkside facility is being jointly developed by Chelan, Douglas and Grant Counties at the site of the old Parkside Convalescent Home. Dr Julie Ricard is the program director.

Ricard says residential units are also being developed for patients but she says it has not been decided yet if they will be available on a voluntary or involuntary basis. Governor Jay Inslee will receive a tour of the facility when he visits Wenatchee on Friday. He is also scheduled to lead a discussion on behavioral health later in the day at a meeting with health care providers at the Confluence Technology Center.
