Panthers Down Moses Lake 3-1 in Baseball

WENATCHEE, WA – It was a battle for first place in the Big 9 baseball standings yesterday at Recreation Park as the Wenatchee Panthers hosted the Moses Lake Chiefs. In the early going, it looked like the Chiefs would wrestle away the top spot.  The visitors scored a run in the first while pitcher Vance Alvarado retired the first 8 batters he faced. But that’s why they play 7-innings. Eric Granstrom had the call on the NCWLIFE Channel…

So there you have it, quite a game as Wenatchee hangs on for the 3-1 win behind great relief pitching and timely hitting by Jared Rubash and Thomas Blakney. The Panthers claim first place all alone in the Big 9 standings and will play two more at Moses Lake on Friday.
