Owner of dogs that attacked woman in Wenatchee arrested

A Douglas County dog owner is in custody after allegedly admitting his animals mauled a jogger two weeks ago up Number 2 Canyon in Wenatchee.

Timothy Dale Houston, 62, told police he parked on the canyon road on Jan. 23 and let his four dogs out while he took a nap.

He said he awoke to find his dogs attacking a woman who had jogged past his car.

Chelan County sheriff’s deputies said the dogs badly mauled the victim, and Houston drove her to Central Washington Hospital, but refused to wait while she received treatment.

Once they identified Houston on Jan. 28, animal control officers seized all four dogs from his home on Badger Mountain.

He faces a likely criminal charge of owning a vicious dog.

The attack victim required at least 60 stitches for multiple bite wounds, and nearly lost one ear.

Houston was booked into jail Thursday in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center.
