Our weather today will feature a surface low off the Oregon coast that will track inland as a warm front lifts towards southeast Washington. Light snow has spread into the lower Columbia Basin and Palouse early this morning. This storm system will encompass the entire region throughout the day and into tonight with an 80% chance of snow today and a 40% chance tonight, high temperatures in the lower 30’s. Snow amounts look fairly light with 1 inch to maybe locally 3 inches by later today. Easterly to northerly winds may also create patchy blowing and drifting snow across parts of the Columbia Basin and Palouse this morning.
For Thursday, our skies will clear out and we will see mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures with afternoon highs in the upper 30’s.
Because of a weak ridge of high pressure, quiet weather is expected Friday right through the upcoming weekend. After some patchy morning fog, we will see mostly sunny to sunny skies each day with afternoon highs in the mid-30’s and overnight lows in the lower 20’s.
Monday night and into Tuesday, another weak storm system will move in bringing a 20% chance of snow and warmer temperatures with highs by Tuesday near 40 degrees.
