One person killed, six injured in accident on icy Highway 28 near Quincy


One person was killed and five others were injured Monday night when a semi slid off icy Highway 28 near Quincy and hit another vehicle that had slid into the ditch.

Killed was Lynn Hoffman, 64, of Tacoma, a passenger in a Dodge Caravan, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Six others in the van were injured, including an 11-year-old girl who was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The other five who were injured included four other children and the driver of the van. They all were taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center.

The accident happened about 6 p.m. near the intersection of White Trail Road about five miles west of Quincy. 

The highway was reopened about 10 p.m.
