A 43-year-old Tonasket man was killed in a one-car rollover this morning on State Route 155 about eight miles north of Nespelem, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The highway was closed for about four hours in both directions as WSP investigated, said Trooper John Bryant.
The state Department of Transportation set up a detour on Columbia River Road from Nespelem to near Omak in Okanogan County.
The name of the man killed in the wreck has not yet been released.
Bryant said a Colville tribal police officer spotted the vehicle about 9:40 and found the deceased man. The man was not wearing a seat belt, Bryant said.
According to the WSP, the 2001 Land Rover was northbound when it left the roadway to the right for an unknown reason.
It traveled about 75 yards before striking rocks, then rolled twice before re-entering the roadway, where it came to rest on its wheels.
