One person killed after car and four-wheeler collide on Highway 97


One person is dead and Highway 97 south of Chelan Falls is fully blocked after a collision this afternoon between a car and a four-wheeler.

The accident happened about 1:41 p.m. 15 miles south of Chelan Falls in Douglas County.

Details on the accident or any additional injuries are not currently available.

Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said he does not know yet if the fatality was a person on the four-wheeler or in the car.

The state patrol said is unknown when the highway will reopen.

Highway 97A, which has been closed most daytime hours for work on rockslide areas, was reopened after the accident as an alternative route.
