Okanogan suspect formally arrested in wife’s murder

OKANOGAN — The Okanogan County suspect long connected with a body found in a burning car is now formally accused of murder.

Angela Bowers: Found murdered June 3, 2019.

Sheriff’s deputies are seeking charges against Lance Robert Bowers, 37, in the killing of his wife Angela M. Bowers. It was her body firefighters discovered in the trunk of the burning car June 3 in the Aeneas Valley.

Deputies arrested Lance Bowers a few hours later, after shooting him non-fatally during the apprehension. He’s been jailed ever since on weapons charges.

Angela Bowers’ body remained unidentified until DNA testing confirmed her identity in September.

Lance Bowers remains jailed on $1.5 million dollars bond. He’ll be arraigned Dec. 9 on likely charges of first-degree murder and arson.
