Number of lost pets rises after Independence Day

WENATCHEE – There were 21 at large calls to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society on Independence Day reporting lost pets in the community.  Around seven lost or found animals are reported on a typical day.

“We had four returned to owners…and then we had two attempted, which means we called and just were not able to connect with the owner,” said Renee Parkins, the development officer of the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. “We don’t know, though, how many, because we just haven’t seen our numbers yet from Pethub, how many animals were returned to owners because of their new ID tags. So I would just encourage, if people have those stories, to let us know. We’d love to hear about your Pethub’s license success story.”
