NORTH CASCADES – Crews began work on clearing SR 20 North Cascades Highway from the east side closure gate on Monday.
With soft snow, the DOT joked today on their Facebook page that crews were able to use some of their lighter weight equipment in this photo.
The DOT has cleared roadway up to the first avalanche chute within Cutthroat Ridge, and have spent the week clearing debris from drainage ditches.
There is no opening date planned yet, but according to officials they are making good progress. The area is closed off to recreational use Monday through Thursday.
