CASHMERE — One person was shot dead late Friday in Cashmere and two men were in custody Saturday morning as Chelan County sheriff's deputies investigated the incident.

Neither the victim nor the suspects were identified in a Saturday morning press release from the sheriff's office. Deputies said they were summoned  about 11 p.m. Friday to the 100 block of Aplets Way, in the heart of downtown Cashmere, for a single victim with fatal gunshot wounds.

Suspects in the investigation were taken into custody about 6 a.m. Saturday, with the assistance of the East Cascade Regional SWAT Team and Columbia River Drug Task Force, deputies said. The sheriff’s office said there does not appear to be any further threat to the public.

Records at the Chelan County Regional Justice Center show Jesus Manuel Torres-Lucatero, 24, was booked into custody about 9 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of second-degree murder. Also jailed was Guillermo Torres-Lucatero, 22, suspected of rendering criminal assistance. Neither has been charged.
