Someone broke into the Wenatchee Riverfront Railway, stealing what the group said was $15,000 worth of items, including tools and irreplaceable antique railroad items.
The railway said the burglary happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 Thanksgiving morning.
“The culprits stole most of our tools (and) damaged our main locomotive that you are all familiar with,” the group posted on social media.
It is the second burglary this year at the miniature railroad facility on North Worthen Street.
“That makes it over $20,000 worth of necessary tools and irreplaceable antiques that us volunteers have built up throughout the years to provide a great experience for all of you, have been stolen from us this year,” the group posted.
Despite the losses, Wenatchee Riverfront Railway said they are still running with one of their other locomotives.
The 10-inch gauge miniature railroad offers rides from the end of April to the beginning of December.
