New Chelan County Judge Takes Oath

Wenatchee, Wa.- A new judge was sworn in this morning in Wenatchee. Robert McSeveney succeeds Chelan County Superior Court Judge TW “Chip” Small after being appointed by Governor Jay Inslee last month to the bench. Steve Hair files the report.

Today’s swearing in ceremony was well attended with Judge Lesley Allan presiding. Judge McSeveney then dawned his robe with his wife, Laurie’s assistance, and afterwards shared comments with the packed gallery .

After a brief reception Judge McSeveney went right to work presiding over the criminal court calendar. McSeveney started his career as a police officer in Bellevue. He served as a municipal court judge in King County and most recently as a Federal Immigration Judge in San Diego, California. He has also served in Chelan County as a visiting judge. Judge McSeveney joins Kristen Ferrera as the two new additions to the Chelan County Superior Court.
