A motorcyclist who allegedly led police on a highway chase from East Wenatchee to Rock Island is suspected of carrying drugs for sale.

Nineteen-year old Elian Santillan Cruz of East Wenatchee was riding on North Georgia Avenue on Friday night when police tried to pull him over.

He allegedly fled at speeds up to 85 miles per hour, ran from police when he finally stopped at a Rock Island house, and fought with officers before they overpowered him with a Taser.

Police said Cruz was carrying a large amount of cash, plus more than eight ounces of methamphetamine and three and a half ounces of heroin. Cruz has one previous conviction for cocaine possession.
