MOSES LAKE- A man was filling his tires with air at a gas station in Moses Lake early this morning when he heard gun shots and felt a sharp pain in his leg.

Police responded to multiple reports of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. at the 76 Gas Station near State Route 17. Captain Dave Sands tells us more.

“Initially it was reported out in County jurisdiction, however officers were able to locate a scene at a gas station in the 1100 block of Stratford Road where they located four shell casings,” Sands said. “While they were on scene they received report that a gunshot victim had arrived at Samaritan Hospital.”

Officers contacted the victim and learned he had been airing up his tires at the gas station when the shooting occurred.

“The subject, a 24-year-old Moses Lake resident, left the scene at that time and received a ride up to Samaritan Hospital,” Sands said. “The case has been turned over to detectives to follow up and at this time we have no suspect information.”
