A 17 year old Waterville Girl who went missing Friday after walking to school has now been reunited with her parents after being located Sunday afternoon. Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal reported Sunday afternoon that the girl, identified as Karsen Shafer, was believed to be in the company of her boyfriend, 24 year old Shannon Joseph Goebel, Jr. of Toledo, Washington. The two were last reported to have been seen Saturday in Toledo at a relative’s house.

The Sheriff says Deputies were initially called out Friday to a report of a runaway juvenile. The parents had reported Karsen had left for school early in the morning but had not returned. Waterville School District officials said she had not been to school that day. Her mother told NCWLIFE News that her daughter’s cell phone had not been active since 7:20 that morning and worried about her welfare. Karsen reportedly is elipileptic and apparently left home without her medication.

The Sheriff issued a news release Sunday afternoon urging Goebel and Shafer to return home immediately. If not, the Sheriff said a warrant would be issued for Goebel’s arrest for harboring a runaway, a gross misdemeanor. As of Monday morning Goebels’ whereabouts was not known
