A 2.7 million dollar contract to fund improvements to Wenatchee’s Kiwanas Methow Park has been awarded to an East Wenatchee-based company. The City Council approved the contract with KRCI at last night’s meeting. Council member, Keith Huffaker cast the lone dissenting vote arguing against the City’s one million dollar share of the costs. But Council-member, Jim Bailey maintains that the money is being well spent.
The park’s improvements are the result of an extensive community engagement. The Trust for Public Lands was involved in raising over three million dollars for the improvements.
