Mariners move into 1st in AL West

Mariners top Orioles 4-2

Apparently, they had so much fun playing a doubleheader a couple days ago, the Mariners and Orioles are doing it again today. The Mariners came from behind in game 1 today to beat the Orioles 4-2. Trailing 2-0 in the top of the 5th, Mitch Haniger came through with a big, two-out bomb…

Seattle was able to do some more two-out damage in the 6th, thanks to J.P. Crawford…

Marco Gonzales is the beneficiary, earning his 1st win of the season, going 5-innings and allowing 2-runs on 3-hits with 5-strikeouts. Kendall Graveman worked a 1-2-3 7th for his 2nd save.

Justin Dunn was getting the start in Game 2

In other Mariner news, James Paxton will undergo season-ending surgery. Manager Scott Servais said Tuesday that Paxton will have surgery on his left elbow. The left-hander went on the 10-day injured list last Wednesday with a forearm strain in his pitching arm after leaving his first start of the season in the second inning after 24-pitches.

Paxton had just returned to the Mariners this off-season after being traded to the Yankees by Seattle in 2018. Now, Paxton’s season is over just as it began.
