Man wanted for assault on elderly man arrested in Winchester

A man being sought for allegedly assaulting an elderly man at the victim’s home outside Moses Lake was arrested Thursday afternoon at a home in the Winchester area.

Evan J. Keith, 32, surrendered after law enforcement officers surrounded the home about 4 p.m., said Kyle Foreman of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Keith apparently had seen social media reports asking for the public’s assistance in locating him, Foreman said.

Keith is accused of beating up a 73-year-old Moses Lake man, then stealing his car, money and guns.

The victim suffered head trauma, several broken bones and has been hospitalized, the sheriff’s office said.

Keith reportedly abandoned the victim’s car a short distance away from where the assault took place.
