A 38-year-old man was shot multiple times early Friday morning in the 300 block of 6th Avenue Southeast in Quincy in what police are calling a gang-related shooting.

Quincy police were called at 12:24 a.m. to Quincy Valley Medical Center after the unidentified victim arrived with the gunshot wounds.

He was later transferred to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee where police say he was last known to be in stable condition.

The Quincy Police Department said the man told them he was walking to a friend’s house when he was shot by a man in his 20s who was wearing glasses, a baseball cap, black pants and a white T-shirt.

Police said the victim has prior gang affiliations and believes the man who shot him belongs to a rival gang.

Police found 9-milimeter shell casings at the scene of the shooting and vehicles that were damaged by bullets.

Nobody in the neighborhood called about the shooting and police were unaware of the incident until being called to the hospital, the Quincy Police Department said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is being asked to contact the Quincy Police Department.
