A 42-year-old man suspected of pointing a handgun at two different people was arrested after a standoff Christmas afternoon in Manson.
Jimmy Madrid was booked into the Chelan County jail on charges of first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a handgun.
Chelan County Sheriff’s deputies first responded at 9:20 a.m. to a disturbance off Highway 97A in Entiat where the suspect had reportedly pointed a handgun at another person.
The man had left the area but less than an hour later the sheriff’s office received another report of a man of the same description at Mill Bay Casino in Manson, again pointing a handgun at someone.
The vehicle identified in both incidents was located just before 1 p.m. outside a home on North Harris Avenue in Manson.
The sheriff’s office said with assistance from the Washington State Patrol the home was surrounded and more than two hours later Madrid walked out of a van in the back yard and surrendered.
