A 100-foot tree toppled in the wind Wednesday in Leavenworth and just missed causing major damage to a home. Chelan County Fire District 3 reported that the uprooted Ponderosa Pine in the 300 block of Cascade Street struck the roof of the home’s porch, causing only minor damage.
It turns out the homeowner was inside when the tree fell. Previously, they designated the tree as a Leavenworth Heritage Tree back in 2012. Furthermore, they estimate the tree to be 200 to 300 years old.
