Once again, a landslide, this time up to 8-feet deep, has closed South Lakeshore Road.
County crews are working to open a bypass road through the debris at Slide Ridge off Lake Chelan.
Mud, rock, debris and water have covered the road.
The bypass will run parallel to South Lakeshore Road and the Chelan County Public Works Department says they hope to have it open by noon.
For now, motorists should avoid the area.
A massive slide also closed the road in July.
A contractor was to begin work this week cleaning up rock and debris remaining from that slide.
County crews also remain busy in Entiat cleaning up after a mudslide this weekend on portions of Entiat River Road.
Crews are working between mileposts 11 and 15. Motorists should expect one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic in the work area, the county reports.
Chelan County road crews had planned to start pre-level work in the Wenatchee area today. The paving work has been postponed while crews clean up after these recent rains.
