Land trust purchases property on the White River

The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust has purchased 40 more acres of property on the White River for conservation. [

The $160,000 purchase is part of a conservation plan that has secured most of the lower portion of the river before it empties into Lake Wenatchee.

The river is a rearing and spawning ground for Chinook, sockeye salmon and bull trout.

In addition, it provides 24 percent of the water flowing through the Wenatchee River.
