Jack-knifed Semi Causes Injury Accident in Douglas County

Traffic was slowed Friday afternoon after a semi collided with a car on Highway 28 about 9 miles East of East Wenatchee. A State Partrol report says it happened when the truck, driven by 28 year old Brian Vela of Pasco, jackknifed and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by 63 year old Jose Hinojosa Espindola of Rock Island. Espinola was taken to Central Washington Hospital for treatment. Vela was not hurt. Troopers say the cause is under investigation.

VEHICLE TWO WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON SR28.  VEHICLE ONE WAS UNABLE TO STOP FOR TRAFFIC AHEAD AND JACKKNIFED INTO THE WESTBOUND LANE STRIKING VEHICLE TWO. VEHICLE ONE CAME TO REST BLOCKING BOTH LANES AND VEHICLE TWO CAME TO REST ON THE WESTBOUND SHOULDER.
