Inslee lifts ban on fishing, golfing and reopens state parks

Gov. Jay Inslee says he will be lifting bans on several outdoor activities beginning May 5.

They include fishing, hunting, golfing and the reopening state parks and Department of Natural Resources lands.

He also said camping and team sports will remain prohibited under his Stay Home, Stay Healthy order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fishing was shut down by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife March 26. DNR shut down state lands a day later.

Golfing will be allowed in twosomes only, he said. And golfers will be allowed to play with only one person outside their household.

Camping on state lands remains banned.

Inslee said if the virus spikes again in the state the bans will be reinstated.
