FAA revises recommendation, Grant County TRACON facility to remain open

MOSES LAKE – Because of the efforts of Moses Lake Representative Tom Dent, The Federal Aviation Administration recently decided not to recommend closure of the Terminal Radar Approach Control or (TRACON) facility at the Grant County International Airport.

Grant County Airport

Dent, who has more than 40-years of flying experience, had drafted legislation at the state level, House Joint Memorial 4013, to highlight the benefits TRACON brings to the region, including opportunities for potential future pilots, and to demonstrate the widespread interest in maintaining the facility in Moses Lake. The FAA’s decision is the culmination of years of work, mandated by Congress, that directed the agency to review similar facilities across the country.
