A bill that expands protections for undocumented immigrants in Washington State is signed into law by Governor Jay Inslee. The new law adds new rules that restrict law enforcement from asking about citizenship status. The new law is similar to measures adopted by other so-called Sanctuary States and expands upon Inslee’s 2017 executive order that applied only to State agencies. Governor Inslee commented on the bill during a bill signing ceremony in Olympia yesterday.
