Gateway Project Moves Forward in East Wenatchee

EAST WENATCHEE, WA.- East Wenatchee’s downtown is getting a face lift starting with construction of a new welcoming feature on the site of an old gas station.

The Gateway project is located on the Southwest Corner of Valley Mall Parkway. It was recently approved for funding by the City Council and Mayor Steve Lacy joined us this morning on Wake Up Wenatchee Valley to discuss the project . . .

The project was delayed after the initial construction bids in April came in over the City Engineer’s cost estimates. The revised costs are still 100-thousand over that estimate but Lacy says the Council voted to proceed with the project at their July 24th meeting.
