Friends welcome Lincoln students back to school


Lincoln Elementary School students received a special welcome as they began the new school term this morning. Steve Hair reports that teachers and staff came to school this morning wearing T-shirts with the message, “I will be your Friend”.

The shirts are part of a nationwide anti-bullying campaign that was started earlier this month by a Florida first grader who wanted to send a message of friendship to his classmates. Lincoln Principal, Tim Shepard says its a comforting way to get the new school year off to a good start .

It was also the first day of school for newly hired Wenatchee Public School’s superintendent, Paul Gordon who joined the Lincoln School staff in welcoming students back to school . . .
