Forest Service warns of potential hazards on roads in forests

The U.S. Forest Service is reminding people who are venturing into the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest that they should be on the lookout for hazards along roadways, especially fallen trees.

During the summer, while fire crews are working, fallen trees are quickly removed. But in the fall, those crews are laid off for the winter.

Visitors are encouraged to have a hand saw or chainsaw to remove trees that may be blocking their progress.
