Fire near Methow burned 168 acres but was quickly controlled

The Burma Road Fire burned 168 acres but no structures after starting Saturday afternoon about 5 miles north of Pateros.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources said the progress of the fire at Burma Road south of the town of Methow was halted by about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Several firefighting agencies responded with an all-out assault using ground crews, an air tanker and helicopters.

Level 1 evacuation notices were briefly issued for some residences in the area.
