It’s filing week for prospective candidates in North Central Washington. Non-partisan races for City Council, school boards, port and Hospital Districts are to be decided in November.

Chelan County Auditor, Skip Moore says candidates are required to file for office before Friday’s deadline.

“We’re open for receiving filings in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 everyday this week,” Moore said. “Candidates may also file online via our Chelan County website, that’s open at this time and will remain open 24-hours a day and will close at 4 p.m. on Friday. The difference between the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. cutoffs is ensuring that everything someone may do online is in our office by 5 p.m.”

Moore says you can also pay any filing fee with a credit card if you’re filing online.

Three East Wenatchee City Council seats are up for reelection including Chuck Johnson, Jerrilea Crawford and Wayne Barnhart. In Wenatchee City Council members Jim Bailey, Ruth Esparza and Keith Huffaker’s positions are also to be voted on with Leavenworth, Entiat, Cashmere and Chelan Council seats also on the ballot.
