WENATCHEE,WA-It was a windy start to the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival. The blustery conditions Saturday closed down the Funtastic Carnival at the Town Toyota Center. But the Keyes Fiber Youth Parade and the Pepsi-Cola Youth Day activities attracted hundreds of people to Memorial Park.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the Funnel Cake eating contest. The winner was Miguel Castillo, Father of Apple Blossom Princess Sophie Castillo. The festival continues this week with more entertainment at the main stage at Memorial Park. The All-Service Club Luncheon is slated for Wednesday and the Week culminates on Saturday with the Stemilt Growers Grand Parade.
