Fatal two-vehicle crash in Omak


A Riverside man who was injured in two-vehicle crash in Omak yesterday died at Mid Valley Hospital. A WSP report identified the victim as 87-year old Eugene Layton. Troopers say Layton’s sedan was struck by an SUV when he attempted to make a left turn from Southbound US 97 onto Engh Road.

The SUV was driven by 71-year old David Raymond of Oroville. Raymond and his passenger, 66-year old Joanie Raymond were both injured. He was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. She was transported to Mid Valley Hospital in Omak for treatment.
